Background checks and pre-screening

No More Chaos strongly recommends that you thoroughly check the references and background of every household / employer you consider before committing to the job. It is worth asking for a reference from a previous household help.
The decision and responsibility of accepting a job rests entirely with you.
Live-in position
If you are applying for a live-in position, it is important that you find out details of your accommodation and confirmation that you have your own room. It is acceptable to ask whether you will have your own bathroom/show room; TV; internet access; and what bedroom furniture is provided.

If the job sounds too good to be true... It probably is!
Contracts of employment
It is recommended that you ask your new employer for a contract of employment and detailed job description with number of working hours, remuneration package etc.
